14 oz. pkg. (50) Kraft caramels
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1 pkg. Pillsbury German chocolate cake mix
2 Tbs. evaporated milk
1/2 cup butter or oleo
1 cup chopped walnuts
6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
Combine caramels & evaporated milk in a heavy saucepan.
Cook over low heat stirring constantly until caramels are melted.
Combine cake mix, butter & milk (gently combine so mixture is crumbly).
Press 1/2 into greased and floured 9x13 pan.
Bake at 350o for about 6 minutes (watch it)
Remove from oven & sprinkle chocolate chips.
Spread melted caramel over that, and then sprinkle nuts on top.
Cover with remaining cake mixture & bake about 20 minutes.
